Description

The colors, the crisp air, the cooler temperatures... Fall is the perfect time to get outside!  Let's celebrate the season by running or walking on the scenic Virginia Capital Trail the morning of Saturday, October 26th!

Join the Virginia Capital Trail Foundation and Dominion Energy for a 10-mile or 5k race, run, or walk.  A protected and paved 52-mile multi-use trail connecting Richmond and Williamsburg along the beautiful and historic Route 5 corridor and James River, our Cap Trail is a gem of a resource for runners and walkers.

All proceeds from this event support the Virginia Capital Trail Foundation's work to protect, promote, and enhance the Trail, and to serve as a resource, community builder, and connector to other trails throughout the Commonwealth.  Check out VCTF's website for more information.

Please note, this event is a CUP-LESS RACE. There will be no cups provided at the water stops.  Please bring your own water bottles, bladders, or collapsible cups.  Thank you for supporting a sustainable future by reducing single-use cups!

Keep Our Trail Beautiful! Unnecessary waste and trash is something we are working to eliminate at our events. As an organization dedicated to maintaining the health and beauty of the Capital Trail ecosystem, we are doing our part to reduce waste and go cupless. This means we are eliminating the use of disposable cups at our run.

This is a CUPLESS race.  Cups will not be provided at the water stops.

Please bring your own water bottles, bladders, or collapsible cups.  Here are some products that we recommend:

Thank you for supporting a sustainable future by reducing single-use cups and pledging to go REUSABLE.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: Where do we park?

A: Yes, the course time limit is 3.5 hours, which should ensure a finish time for anyone who can keep a 20 min per mile pace (for the 10M).  This should allow for a brisk walking pace or faster.  Both courses will officially close at 12:30pm.

A: No, you may not run with a baby stroller, but you can run with an approved United Athletics assisted device.
