PLEASE NOTE: Awards are given based on “clock/race time” not “chip time”. This 5K features a start line timing mat which captures when you personally cross the start line. Although 5K awards are based on "clock/race time" or the official start sound, you will be provided with a "chip time" meaning the elapsed time between when you cross the start line and finish line.
CLOCK/RACE time vs. CHIP time Explained
Clock/Race Time: The amount of time it takes a runner to finish the race from the moment of the official start sound and the start of the race clock.
Chip time: The actual amount of time it takes a runner to go from the starting line of a race to the finish line (net time).
As you cross the timing mat at the starting line, a scoring chip (on your bib #) registers that you've started the race. As you cross the finish line, the chip registers that you've finished the race. The amount of time that it takes you to reach the starting line after the official start sound is not included in your Chip time.
Finish Line & Mile Clocks: Clock/Race time is displayed.
Awards: Overall and age group places are determined by Clock/Race time. Chip time is provided as a courtesy.
What if I want to do more? We would love to have your support! You can sponsor the race, create a fundraising page on our website that you can share on social media with your friends and family, or volunteer on event day.
