FAQs for Relay Runners
Relay Racers FAQ
These questions are specific to relay racers. For general festival or event questions, please refer to the ‘Runner’ FAQ.
How Does a Team Qualify for the Corporate Challenge?
When you register, you will be asked if all your team works at the same company. If you say "yes" your team will be entered in the corporate challenge. If you were not asked at registration and want to join the corporate challenge, please email us at info@runegades.com.
NOTE: B. Braun teams whose names start with B. Braun do not have to tell us that they want to be in the corporate challenge.
Is the Corporate Challenge different from the relay?
No. It is an additional award available only to corporate teams. All corporate and non-corporate teams will compete together for overall relay awards.
How will I get through police barricades when driving to exchanges?

Runners are responsible for providing their own transportation to and from relay exchanges.
What amenities will be available to me when I finish my leg of the relay?
Finisher food and drink will be available for first-leg relay runners at the exchange point.
Do relay runners all receive a finisher’s medal?
Yes! All relay runners will receive ½ marathon finisher medals with special relay ribbons. The medals will be handed out at bib pickup!
Will there be awards for the relay race?
Individuals from the top 3 Male/Female/Coed teams will receive awards, and the top Corporate team will win the Corporate Cup.
How does bib pickup work?
At least one member of the relay team should visit our expo on Friday or Saturday to pick up individual bibs. The first runner of the relay team must visit the timing tent the morning of the race to pick up the team’s ankle chip.
Do relay runners have to wear the timing chip around their ankle?
Yes, each relay team will get a single chip that straps around the runner’s ankle and is passed from runner to runner. Runners can carry it in their hand or on their wrist, but it is IMPERATIVE that the chip passes low enough to be read by the timing mat when they start and finish. If runners cross the start, finish, or exchange mats with the chip held high, it may not be read.
Can the whole team watch the start and make it to their starting points?
Yes! But don't follow your GPS because roads will be closed. Follow the directions listed above in these FAQs!
One of our teammates can't make the relay, can someone else take their spot?
Yes! Please arrive early and visit the day-of packet pickup table, which opens at 6:30 AM on Sunday.
