Place
300 S. River Rd.
Baton Rouge, LA US 70802
Description
The "LIT RUN", hosted by the Family Project Inc., is a 5k Run right after sunset in beautiful Downtown Baton Rouge on the Riverfront. Participants are encouraged to get "LIT" in their brightest running attire. Along with donning themselves in lights and glow sticks, runners, and walkers will enjoy a foot tour of the new and historic sites downtown, visit vendors, and enjoy music, all while supporting a deserving cause. The catalyst powering the "LIT RUN" looks to illuminate the dark circumstance in literacy in our parish as an issue. Proceeds from the event will support literacy initiatives at underperforming schools, and our GED testing center. The aim is to increase literacy rates, and test scores and assist students in unearthing the worlds of knowledge that can be discovered through reading. Run check-in is at 5:00 pm and the Run starts at 5:30 pm on the levee (Keep in mind, there will be hills and curves)
