Description

Join us for the 4th annual Santa Shuffle 5K Run/Walk and Kids' Elf Dash on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at 2:00pm in Downtown Versailles.  

 

Our race will precede the Versailles Christmas Parade at 5pm, so you can bring the whole family and enjoy the race, visit downtown businesses, and enjoy the parade all in one afternoon. The Versailles Christmas Parade will kick off at 5pm, so stick around after the race to take part in a truly Wonderful Woodford Christmas! The Kiwanis Club is hosting their pancake breakfast that morning from 7am-11am at First Christian Church if you want to come and make a day of it in downtown Versailles!

Our race will benefit 2 local charities --

Cops For Kids Inc. which is a collaborative effort to raise funds throughout he year in order to provide gifts to underprivileged children of Versailles, Midway & Woodford County at Christmas.  The organization also provides clothing, toys & school supplies to children who are victims of fire, flood or other natural disaster or tragedy on an as needed basis throughout the year.  Read more below and thanks for your support!

The Jeri Hartley Foundation who's mission is to honor Jeri Hartley's unwavering faith in God, compassion for Woodford County, and dedication to uplifting the lives of all residents.  Inspired by Jeri Hartley’s deep compassion and commitment to Woodford County, the Foundation stands as a testament to the enduring impact of Jeri’s life, legacy, and faith.  Her unwavering dedication to local addiction recovery programs, charitable endeavors, local businesses, schools, and civic engagement continues to make an impact.  Through meaningful initiatives, collaborative partnerships, and impactful outreach, we strive to embody Jeri’s spirit by fostering hope, kindness, and spiritual growth at the heart of this community.

PACKET PICKUP    Our packet pickup will be held on Friday, December 6th from 9am-4pm at the Offices of the Woodford County Chamber of Commerce (Address:  126 S Main St, Versailles, KY 40383)   You may pickup for a friend/family member with no credentials, paperwork or ID required.  We'll also have race day PPU on Saturday, December 2nd from 12:45-2pm in the Courthouse Square area.

MORE ABOUT COPS FOR KIDS INC.

Cops for Kids Inc. Is a non-profit group led by the Versailles, KY Police Dept.  The organization includes the Versailles, Midway & Woodford County Emergency Services. These Emergency Services are; The Versailles Fire Dept,  Woodford County Ambulance Service, The Woodford count Detention Center, The Woodford County Sheriff's Office & The Woodford County Animal Control.
  
Personnel raise funds throughout he year in order to provide gifts to underprivileged children of Versailles, Midway & Woodford County at Christmas.  The organization also provides clothing, toys & school supplies to children who are victims of fire, flood or other natural disaster or tragedy on an as needed basis throughout the year. In 2014, over 200 children were served.


The Cops for Kids annual budget is $15,000 to $20,000 With Cops&Joggers  being one of the larges fundraisers. Cops for Kids also participates in a golf scramble in conjunction with Versailles Fire Dept, conducts collections at intersections, sponsors a car show and does other smaller activities a local events such as the Twilight Festival & the Midway Fall Festival.

5K Route Map

Our race will start and finish at the same location near the Courthouse in downtown Versailles.  Our loop course will traverse through the city, out McCracken Pike, through Big Spring Park and along scenic streets in historic Versailles.  The elevation change on the course is 173 feet.  There will be a water stop that runners will pass by two times.
