Description
Grab your skis and join Seward Parks and Recreation and the Seward Nordic Ski Club to compete in the first Grizzly Glide Ski-a-thon! The Grizzly Glide will be held on February 23rd, 2025, from 12:00 - 3:00 PM at Bear Lake in Seward, AK.
There are three options to compete in the Grizzly Glide:
- Classic skiing, racers begin at 12:00 PM
- Skate skiing, racers being at 12:30 PM
- Skijoring, racers begin at 1:00 PM
The ski-a-thon will release all skiers at pre-determined intervals within the timeframe of each race.
Additional Race Information
- The distance of 1 lap around Bear Lake is ~4.8 miles
- Check-in and bib pick-up will occur on race day at Bear Lake:
- 11:30-12:00 PM for classic skiers
- 12:00-12:30 PM for skate skiers
- 12:30-1:00PM for skijor racers
- Parking will be at the boat ramp parking lot on the south side of the lake.
