Course Information
The Publix Battleship 12K is a simple point to point course. Runners start on Old Spanish Trail (Hwy 98) and turn right just past the old chamber of commerce to head down the hill. Runners will be in the southernmost east bound lane and the emergency lane heading straight across Hwy 98 to the USS Alabama where they will be greeted to a patriotic welcome.
Portable toilets are located at the start, at water stations and at the finish. Water stations are located approximately every 2 miles.
The course is very well marked. There are mile markers and directional signs where appropriate. Runners must be able to complete the ~7.5 mile course in 2.5 hours. That translates to a 20:00 minute per mile average, which is a brisk walk. Runners not able to hold this pace will be picked up by the SAG vehicle and either moved up the course or brought to the finish line. There are no exceptions to this. The race runs AGAINST traffic and runners will not be allowed to continue on their own.
