BTC Info
The Birmingham Track Club (BTC) is an organization that encourages running/walking for all individuals regardless of distance or pace. We are a Running Club member of the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) and operate as a nonprofit under the group exemption provided by RRCA. Among the many benefits of BTC membership are the following highlights:
- Discounted registration for all BTC-hosted races
- Discounted registration for many local races hosted by other organizations
- Discounts at several local retailers, including many that specialize in running gear
- Weekly organized training runs tailored to goal races (free!)
- Monthly newsletter (free!)
- Regular social events/runs where you can get to know other runners (usually free!)
The BTC hosts four races during each calendar year:
- Adam's Heart Runs - January
5k, 10k and 10-mile distances on the roads at Oak Mountain State Park - Statue to Statue 15k - April
Picturesque run from the Vulcan statue to the Liberty statue - Peavine Falls Run - July 4
8.2 mile run in Oak Mountain State Park (mostly roads, some trail) - Vulcan 10k - November
Birmingham's historic, signature 10k event
With the exception of the Peavine Falls Run, all of these races are conducted on USA Track and Field (USATF) certified courses. All races feature electronic timing as well as race shirts, post-race refreshments, and other amenities.
