We’re thrilled to announce this year’s Love4Lucas 5th Annual Virtual Fundraising Event—a Turkey Trot!
Skip, run, walk, bike, or dance for 1, 3, 5, or 10 miles to support the Love4Lucas Foundation! You can create your own adventure! Gather your family and friends to participate ANYTIME and ANYWHERE from Thursday, November 28 to Sunday, December 1, 2024.
Thanks to our supporters, your generosity allowed us to donate 100% of the proceeds to research organizations dedicated to finding a cure for DIPG. In December 2023, we contributed $50,000 to continue our partnership with DIPG/DMG Collaborative, joining over 20 foundational partners and supporting long-term DIPG/DMG research. In April 2024, we donated another $50,000 to the Children's Brain Tumor Project, which focuses on furthering research in the understanding of the development of DIPG and improving the outcome for children with brain tumors.

The Love4Lucas Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization created in honor of Lucas Harashima. On September 17, 2016, at the age of 5, Lucas was diagnosed with DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma). DIPG is an aggressive brain tumor that affects children between the ages of 4 and 11 and interferes with all bodily functions. Lucas died on March 21, 2018, just a few months shy of his 7th birthday.

HOW THE EVENT WORKS
Step 1: Sign up as an individual or with your entire family. When you sign up, you can create a team (or join an existing team) by going here.
Step 2: Invite your friends and family to sign up for the event. In the confirmation email you receive after signing up, you will receive a personalized URL to share and invite friends and family to sign up. For teams with more than 5+ members, all registrants will receive a $5 discount.
Step 3: Go the extra mile and use the fundraising tools to set up a fundraising page here to make it easier to collect donations for Love4Lucas. Registrants who raise $500+ will receive a Love4Lucas tote bag and an entry in a drawing to win a 3-night stay in the Catskills as a thank you for their fundraising efforts.
Step 4: Buy additional Merch for your family or team! Must be purchased by November 20 to receive in the mail for the event.
VIRTUAL EVENT WEEKEND
1. Plan your adventure for the event. Walk, run, bike, rollerblade, skateboard or whatever you prefer for 1, 3, 5 or 10 miles.
2. Take photos or videos at the start, along the way, and at the finish. Use #love4lucasturkeytrot in your social posts. Share photos on the race Photos page.

FAQ
When does the Virtual Event Start/End?
This is a virtual race so you can complete your distance anywhere and anytime from November 28 through December 1.
Can I really choose any distance?
YES! Choose 1, 3, 5, or 10 miles!
If I choose 5 or 10 miles, can I complete it throughout the weekend?
YES! You can break your run over multiple workouts throughout the virtual weekend event.
Can I Walk?
YES! This event is for all levels and abilities. Run, Walk, Jog, Bike, Skip, Dance - choose whatever you prefer and have fun!
Is there a race shirt?
Yes! You can add-on a dri-fit running shirt when you register for the event.
Can I invite friends and relatives?
Absolutely! Please post and share the race page with all your friends, relatives, and neighbors. You can also "Create a Group/Team" and invite others to join your team.
