Description

Join us on Thanksgiving morning for the THIRD ANNUAL Cambridge Thanksgiving Turkey Trot 5k.  This will be a morning of fun, community fellowship, and exercise! This fast and scenic course will start at the old brick Coila Church on State Route 372 complete with its new addition and increased parking capacity, and head towards the village of Cambridge.  You will get to run along Old Coila Road, through portions of downtown, and by the old Cambridge Hotel before heading back down main street and finishing at The Coila Church, where snacks and beverages will be handed out as you finish, along with finish photos and finisher goodies!  Course maps will be provided at check-in, route will be clearly marked and controlled by law enforcement to ensure safety.

Over the last 2 years, we have been proud to put 100% of registration profit towards the Cambridge Food Pantry and the CVRS (Cambridge Valley Rescue Squad)!  This year, we will be utilizing all funds to support the Cambridge Fuel Fund.  We are excited to provide this essential service to members of our community, particularly right before winter.  Race T-Shirts will be available for purchase for participants who enroll prior to November 6.  Please consider bringing cans, pantry items, and non-perishable foods to the race to donate to the food pantry, bins will be available for contributed items.

Two opportunities for packet pickup will be provided, first on the evening before the race (Wednesday, Nov 27, from 4-5pm) and second on the morning of the race (Thursday, Nov 28) from 7:00-8:00.  We highly encourage participants to use the Wednesday evening option to relieve the crowds Thursday morning.  Any participant not checked in by 8:10 will be considered a "no-show" and refunds will not be issued.  Family members may complete packet pickup/registration for their immediate family members.  While we may have limited day-of registration available, we ask that you register as far in advance as possible to assist the event go smoothly.

Frequently Asked Questions

1) May I push a stroller?

Yes absolutely! We just ask that you start towards the back of the pack to not interfere with the main pack of runners.

2) May my kids bike along?

Unfortunately, due to the nature of the narrow course along a main road and large number of runners, we ask that bikes not be brought along the course.  It represents a higher level of risk than we are comfortable with, and we ask that you respect this decision.

3) Help, do I get a T-Shirt?

All participants who opt to buy a T-Shirt as part of their registration before November 10 will receive a guaranteed T-Shirt.  Due to natural limitations on ordering timeframes, we cannot guarantee a shirt if you register after this date. However, a limited number will be available to purchase at packet pickup if you registered after the cutoff date and would still like one. These will be available on a limited-size, first come first served basis.

4) Can I walk?

Yes! Finish in under 1.5hrs, and feel free to walk the whole time!

5) Can I register the morning of the race?

Yes! With no upcharge, you are able to register on the morning of the race, simply look for the "day of registration" signs in the check in area.

6) Where is this race?

The Coila Church, in Cambridge NY.  The address is 93 NY-372, Cambridge, NY 12816.  All runners will park and proceed into the main entrance of the fellowship hall.  Everything will be clearly marked!
