We are grateful for the five years of event support provided by the TFD, including event safety, blueberry pancakes, and friendships. Donations will support TFD's general fund, supporting local programs such as Volunteer Training Nights, Mobile Health Services, and more. For major donations, please contact Kate.tfdgc@outlook.com.
The Tusayan Fire District was created in 1996 for Tusayan, AZ at the request of the Grand Canyon National Park. Until 1999 the department was all-volunteer, hiring full-time Chief Robert Evans and a firefighter that year. T.F.D. has grown and transformed over the years, starting in an old helicopter hanger on the east side of Highway 64. The current Fire Chief is Greg Brush, who joined T.F.D. in 2005. T.F.D.'s current Assistant Chief is Ray D'Albini who started in April of 2017.
Tusayan Fire is a combination department made up of full-time career, reserve, and volunteer firefighters. Our volunteers are the backbone of the district, and we are grateful for all the hard work they have put in over the years.
We respond to calls from local community members, as well as, individuals from all over the world who are visiting our town. The majority of our calls are medical related (90%) but we help with a variety of other calls including: structure fires, motor vehicle accidents, aircraft incidents, wild land fires, propane leaks, etc. We average 400 calls per year and assist over 6 million visitors. We also respond north into the National Park as far as the East Entrance, and can respond farther south towards Valle & Williams, AZ.
