Dr. Cordora earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1996, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He was a letterman on the varsity football team and received an athletic scholarship. 

He was accepted by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry, where he was awarded his Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2001. Following a short associateship position in Taylorsville, NC, he opened his own private dental office in Hickory, NC, and has been in practice for over 20 years. In 2018 Dr. Cordora was invited to become a Clinical Adjunct Professor at UNC Dental School working on Fridays in the DDS student clinics.  In 2024, after eclipsing over 500 hours of continuing education and passing a written clinical proficiency exam covering 15 dental subjects, Dr. Cordora earned his Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry. 

Each year Dr. Cordora participates in dental seminars and lectures, hands-on presentations, and attends conferences. In doing so, he learns from leading researchers and practitioners in the field, staying current on the latest methodologies, technological advancements, and research findings.
